What Can You Do with a Degree in Pre-Pharmacy?

You can use the degree to prepare for transfer into a pharmacy or related program and complete foundational coursework. The A.S. alone does not qualify you to work as a licensed pharmacist. Plan your courses with an advisor and verify that they meet the prerequisites of your intended pharmacy schools.
The A.S. is generally a step toward further education, not a license to practice as a pharmacist. Pharmacists typically need to earn a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and meet applicable licensing requirements. They work in community pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, research settings, and other healthcare organizations. Career options and requirements vary by role and location.
