What Can You Do with a Degree in Pre-Nursing?

You can use the degree to prepare for transfer or application to a nursing program and complete relevant foundational coursework. The A.A. alone does not qualify you to work as a registered nurse. Plan your courses with an advisor and verify that they meet the admission and transfer requirements of your intended nursing program.
The Pre-Nursing A.A. is generally a pathway to additional education, not a nursing license or qualification for registered nurse practice. To become an RN, you鈥檒l need to complete an approved nursing program and meet applicable examination and licensing requirements. Registered nurses work in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, community health settings, and other healthcare environments.
