What Can You Do with a Degree in Pre-Clinical Laboratory Science?

This degree can help you prepare to transfer into a bachelor鈥檚 program in clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory science, or a related field. The A.A. alone may not qualify you for clinical laboratory scientist positions, which typically require additional education and may require certification or licensure. You can also use the science coursework as a foundation for exploring related healthcare and laboratory pathways.
The A.A. Degree is generally a starting point for further education rather than preparation for independent clinical laboratory work. After completing an appropriate bachelor鈥檚 degree and any required certification or licensure, graduates may pursue roles such as clinical laboratory scientist or medical laboratory scientist. Laboratory professionals work in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, clinics, research facilities, and public health organizations. Career requirements vary by employer and location.
